Yea!they Got Caught.

They finally got caught.
Good,lets get rid of them.
They are the one that is screwing our medicare problem.
I am sure there is more to come on this.
Least they got caught and will catch more of these
doctors,therapist etc.
About time.
A start.Thumb up.

Federal prosecutors have charged 111 people, including doctors, nurses and health care company officials, with bilking the Medicare system out of $225 million in the largest one-day health care fraud sweep in U.S. history, USA TODAY's Kevin Johnson reports.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder says the charges filed in nine U.S. cities are part of a national crackdown on false billing schemes by health providers from New York to Los Angeles.

Holder says the suspects allegedly submitted claims to Medicare for treatments, including home health care, medical equipment, physical therapy and prescription drugs, that were "medically unnecessary and often never provided.''

Among the targets:

•In Brooklyn, N.Y., three doctors and one physical therapist were among 10 suspects charged in alleged frauds totaling $90 million, according to court documents.
•In Miami, 32 suspects, including two doctors and eight nurses, allegedly submitted false billings totaling $55 million.
•In Detroit, 21 suspects, including three doctors and three physical therapists, allegedly submitted false claims for more than $23 million for nerve conduction tests, psychotherapy, physical therapy and podiatry.

I hope they successfully prosecute these guys- and others that abuse and fraud the system. I wonder if people on Medicare know that they can periodically review the charges billed to their Medicare accounts- and are encouraged to do so to help detect fraud?

This may be a break through on this subject.

This is really terrible. Remember how doctors used to be looked up to
for their integrity and selflessness? Now a lot of them are money grubbing
crooks stealing from the government and messing up an excellent program.

They need to line these people up against a wall and shoot all of them if they are actually guilty. They are stealing from me as a tax payer and I resent it. BASTARDS!!!!!!

It makes me sick that people are stealing from Medicare when this program is already in jeopardy. I hope they keep cracking down on those doing it.
