What Do I Write Today?

This has been going on all day about tornado warning etc.
Though it is nowhere near us but different parts of NH>
Our local channel keep interrupting us on the latest what happenings here in our state of NH
This is not what I am writing about.
So I tuned in on our local channel to keep informed on what is going on and how they are telling people what to do in case of this.
Fine!that is great.Only one problem.
Mike and I was keeping up with the news on this.
Then I said to Mike what is wrong with this warning that they giving resident timeline when it will hit or miss..
Mike said what?
Well first there is no closed captioned on the forecast.
How does the deaf community handled this?
Yes,I know there is someone out there to help them but that is not the point.
What if there wasn't anyone to help them.
How do they handled this.
Yes,we all know that this is an hearing world.
Little is paying any attention to these people.
I am sure they are well taken care of by someone.
If I was home along and could not hear what the person is talking about and how do I handle this.
Well,surely will figured things out.
I was wondering if the deaf community get all the information of what is happening.
Sure they have all these gadget to helped them out.
Hoping that they all get help there, when an emergency arrives.
I get very upset about this.
Even I with little hearing that I have, normally some will not put up with it.
Just wondering how they feel .
Guess,too soft hearted.
Wherever they are good luck and do get help if needed.
Now about that storm.
It is very dark here and noticed the wind is picking up some.
The time line is up to nine or later.
Will keep an eye to the sky.
Feel or look kind of spooky out there.
Will give you the story if anything happened.
Some places are get the t-storm and hail, wind etc.
Guess, had a little bit of news not much.
Enjoy the evening.

Talk to you later.

Comments:

They really should have written warnings across the bottom of the screen. Have Mike call the station, they are probably not aware of it. We dread the
night time storms.

yes, they should.Or maybe they did not have the time to rush it through?

That's something we non-deaf people don't think about. Glad things turned out okay.

Yes,we lucked out.The rest did not.

I think your storms came from our cold rainy day we had recently. I didn't know you could have tornadoes in New Hampshire. Up until now, it's been a quiet tornado season.
comment by troutbend on May 29, 2012 9:30 PM ()
we lucked out here but the others did not.Flooding and golf balls hail etc.
We had a slight tornado here a few years back. The remnant is still with us.
This is a few miles down the road. Not surprised about all of the weird weather and something big is going to happen. Not sure or when.

On our TVs there is closed caption on all stations 24/7 plus all warnings are streamed across bottom of screen
comment by greatmartin on May 29, 2012 3:18 PM ()
yes, they do.For some reason they did not have it streaming on the bottom
The other station did have it.This was our local station.

Yes they need to work on news casts and making sure they are either interpreted or something. I know here in Hawaii they have a great network and they email/text each other in the event of a tsunami or other disaster. However if a tsunami happens at night I know of several people who wouldn't notice their phone going off in the middle of the night...important to have back up plans.

which is a good idea.It can be scary for some folks. We have to take care of t hem.

Wow! It looks like you have some pretty rough weather up there! I hate it when the radar starts showing oranges and reds. That is never a good sign. Stay safe!
