The actress, 73, tells People mag (on newsstands Friday) that she got the diagnosis on Jan. 15.

Tests revealed she has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a rare condition that occurs when cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane surrounding the brain. Harper tells the mag she is opting for chemo, but, according to People, her doctors say she may only have three months left to live.

"I don't think of dying," says Harper, who has been married to Tony Cacciotti since 1987. "I think of being here now."

In 2009, Harper, who described herself as "a lifelong non-smoker," was diagnosed with lung cancer, which she beat. But she tells People now, "I'm well past my expiration date already."

I didn't realize that she fell victim to cancer earlier. I wish they
would find a cure and sometimes wonder if it didn't generate so much
money that a cure could be found.

It does generate lots of money in the high-priced cancer hospitals but that goes to hospital profit and million dollar CEO remuneration, not cancer research. These people are vultures making a fortune off dying cancer victims.

Yes,sometime money is not enough, but they do need and the next generation will get the cure. Then something else happen.Win some and lose some.He has positive thinking.

Sad news. She was such a funny character on those TV shows. I'll never forget one of the things her Rhoda character said was she believed that when people were losing weight all those pounds were floating around and attached to her.
