We were without power for 5 days after Charley. No toilet, no water, except the bottles we had stocked up on and their sale was rationed, no light at night, no refrigeration and our stocked up stuff spoiled. We ate cold cuts stored in coolers. We couldn't wash more than face and hands. We were lucky to have a pool to get water to flush the toilets. We got water to flush from the pool. And, of course, no TV. It wasn't Armageddon but it was very uncomfortable and also we had no idea when the power would come back. After it was back, we couldn't use tap water for several days because of contamination.
