Winter Used to Be My Favorite

Until I married a man who is in the propane business! He is a service technician and goes on call for a week at a time. Then because they are short handed they also put him on call for delivery! And usually someone cannot take their call and hubby ends up with it. Last night I saw him long enough for him to fill up his coffee mugs and he was gone till after 10. Tonight I saw him for another 5 minutes as he was on his way out on 3 calls! This is the only part of winter I truly hate. I can take the cold and preferably snow, but not seeing hubby sucks! People's tanks are freezing up and its just a matter of him putting ethanol in their tank. But some of these calls are an hour away!!! And did I mention it's zero degrees with the wind chill. I actually think it's colder than that cuz the thermometer says 12 degrees.
Sunday I have a date to go see Pepper, the beagle. Pepper was daughter's dog but when she moved out I told her I would keep Pepper for her. When we lost the house, the animals were split up amongst relatives. Pepper and one of my cats are at the same house. I am having severe Pepper withdrawal. I will pick her up some chew toys and stuff. If it was warmer I would take her for a nice long walk. That will have to wait for better temps. Our other dog, Rambo, sadly passed away. He was very old and his health was failing. I can't really talk about it, it's upsetting. Brings back memories of my Sheba.
I guess everyone decided to go shopping today, it was crazy busy. I had a good time though. I sold alot of heaters today! My favorite customer today was this younger guy, in his late 20's I would say. He had the regular grocery items. Then he throws a bra up there and says, I hope that's the right one. If not, this one should be. And he throws another one up. I laughed so hard, I could not stop. I told him, I don't even make my husband pick up bras! It was seriously hilarious.
As I was going out on break I passed my buddy John in the hallway. So I punched him in the arm. He asked what was that for??  I told him I am sure he did something to deserve it.  Kota found an old necklace of mine. It has a norwegian elkhound charm on it. He said I had to wear it today to bring me good luck. I had alot of compliments on it today. But as soon as I got home Kota said it was his turn to wear it. lol
I am making myself a scarf and I really need to get it finished. Its about half done. And tomorrow it's supposed to be colder than today. I go in at 12 so I think I have time to get it finished.
Well thats all the news for now. I hope you all are staying warm. Especially poor Martin down there in sunny floriday!
