If I have one more customer ask me why we don't have enough cashiers I swear I will scream! LOL Last night from 8 o'clock on it was crazy! I was ringing up customers until 10:30. I have no idea why they can't schedule enough cashiers or punish the ones who call out all the time. I heard they had 20 callouts yesterday!
I had a really good day yesterday. The problem child, as I like to call her, was off yesterday. My other two co-workers really made me feel alot better about things. I really like these two ladies, we get our work done but we also joke around with each other. That is how work should be. Not a competition to see who is the best worker. We all work together and help each other. They gave me some new training yesterday in checking inventory and things like that.
I also had some really good customers. I was helping one lady pick out a wedding band to go with her custom made engagement ring. It was gorgeous! She liked my ideas on which band would compliment her ring without overshadowing it. That is one thing I am good at, seeing what goes well together. She said she would bring her fiance in to see the ring 'we' had picked out.
My dept manager said we will have a meeting later this week to air all of these issues we are having. She said it seems there is a power play going on. I am hoping she meant the other new girl and not my co-workers. I told her that I have no problems with this lady as a person, it's as a co-worker. I explained how she won't let me do anything but menial tasks and take care of her trash. So we shall see.
We have baby bunnies in our yard. Kota discovered them the other evening. He was so excited! He came in and said I had to come see what he found. I was really hoping it wasn't a slug! I told him we need to just stay away from the babies because they get really scared. I showed him where their den was and that was the safest place for them. They are so cute!
We have been bombarded with so many storms this past week! Some have been really bad with high winds and torrential rain. Now it is just super humid out there. It feels like you are trying to breathe underwater! But our house stays nice and cool with no air conditioning! There are so many windows that we can get a nice cross breeze through here. Having the front porch helps alot, it keeps the sun from coming in the living room during the hottest part of the day. Speaking of the porch, I need to find a porch swing! Nothing better than sitting on the porch in a swing, with a nice glass of iced tea!
