It's been raining here all day long...not that I'm complaining or anything....we really don't care...
This morning we got up and went to Amish Country for breakfast. Hash browns with bacon and biscuits and gravy...oh man was it ever good.
We ate slowly while chatting with folks who were browsing in the store. This isn't the same store I go to...but another along the hwy.. The only thing that is different is it's touristier....which kinda sucks. But we enjoyed ourselves.
The air conditioner was working hard to keep the heat at bay.. as an old fan runs in the corner fluttering the gingham tablecloths.....while Amish ladies shop in one corner, and ladies in shorts and T-shirts watch them from another corner and laugh about buying jelly to take home as souvenirs.
It sells a lot of Amish goods...the walls are rough wood, with little knickknacks everywhere. Amish quilts hang alongside patchwork pot holders and Amish dolls with no faces. Shelves that sell dandelion jelly...and apple butter. Little ole men sitting in rocking chairs talking about the weather and greeting everyone who walks in the door. We had a nice conversation with a elderly gentleman named Sam who talked about his six babies...the youngest being 45...it made me smile.
We've been watching movies all day...and watching it rain.
Tonight Ken is grilling hamburgers on the grill....under the porch cuz it's still raining...
It’s been a good day….tomorrow we’re off on our little mini getaway…
