Lizard Spit Anyone?

I went to the Dr. Thursday for my 3 month over haul and pokefest for bloodwork (it took them 8 pokes to get me this time).   I hate going to the Dr. when I feel good cuz they always seem to find something wrong.
A few years ago I went, and they took my blood pressure, and she starts asking all these questions.    Have you been feeling dizzy...ummm no....Have you been having headache...ummmm no....has you vision been blury....ummmm no.   Well she leaves the room and comes back in and says.  "Here take these two little white pills, and lay back and think happy toughts"............WTF?   Now tell me how that is going to make you feel calm?    That was how I got the news that my blood pressure was high.
So back to last Thursday.   My blood sugar numbers have been high...I knew that going in.   I knew she was not going to be happy with me.   I knew I would get a lecture.   I've been trying but my numbers have always been higher than she would like.    So she suggest Byetta..it has lizard spit in it.    Don't believe me... Here is info on the medical site:
Byetta's active ingredient is a protein, exenatide, that encourages digestion and the production of insulin. The fact that exenatide was initially discovered in the saliva of the Gila monster, a poisonous lizard found in the Southwest, explains the nicknames Lizzy and Gilly for Byetta — if not the pronunciation.'
How about that I've got Lizard spit in me now.
  Ugly little sucker isn't he?
I also got some eye drops because somehow I have managed to get an infection in my eye.   I thought it was a stye, but It managed to hang on over a month, and Doc thinks I somehow cut my right eye and it got infected.   So I'm taking antibotic drops 2 drops..4 times a day.   It makes me a little loopy...My face gets flushed....and I feel a little loopy...so it's been a fun weekend.
Just having fun here, lizard spit and all.
If I start hunting for flies I'm not gonna be happy....

Loved the ending of your post...you might want to take on the eating habits of a lizard? Well, be a vegetarian one...eat lettuce and avoid those flies!LOL (Just kidding around, of course.)

Seriously, going to the doctor is never fun, no matter what the reason. But, I'm glad you're a person who goes anyway...it's best to be safe than sorry and check-ups are good to have. I sure do hope you're feeling better. I know you have to work on that sugar which, hopefully, will improve, and I hope that eye infection has cleared up by now, too.

You know the drill Elgie..eat a lot of protein and no sweets or starches and the blasted sugar should go down with the help of the Byetta. Sounds like a great name for a poodle...Byetta.

Take best care of yourself! There has been some troubling reports recently about Byetta.

Not sure if I would take that stuff.

I am so happy I don't have high blood pressure! Lizard Spit!!! You need to stay calm at all times... Don't pay attention to the crazies that you come in contact with! Take care of yourself, and keep taking the lizard spit!

BTW, only 3 pokes? They always mangle my blood veins when I get a test. My doctor's nurse refuses to do it any more. They send me to the clinic. the clinic gets to mangle my inner elbow..

I failed a glucose tolerance test a few years ago. My A1C is still 5.9 - 6.1. "Good control", he says.... If I knew what I was doing right I'd take credit for it. Good luck.
