We heard on the news last night that the last of the Zeigfeild girls had gone to her reward. She was l06 and that had some footage of her dancing when she was a mere
ninety four. She was still nimble and fast on her feet.

That must mean that Vaudville has finally perished. I can remember a little bit of that type of show from the thirties. It was fun but of course we weren't accustomed to concerts with colored smoke and sophisticated comedy.

I never liked prat falls and slapstick so I don't miss that
aspect. I heard the funniest true story last night and I will proceed to tell you about it.

My friend Avis was a children's librarian before she became head of the library. She had planned an afternoon of fun
for the children culminating with a pinata stuffed with
candy and confetti. She had on an open neck blouse. She didn't get off until late and
she was exhausted. Her family was already in bed. She
was so tired that she took off her blouse and threw it across the room. Confetti and candy fell out and landed on the bed. Her husband opened one eye and said, "I don't
know what you have in mind but I don't think I am up to it".
