I always hate to bring the plants in because I know I will have to chose which ones to save and the others will be doomed. I kept three ferns, an airplane plant, a hibiscus and a begonia. The begonia got huge and so far it hasn't notidced that it has been repotted and placed under a skylight.
I did most of the housecleaning yesterday which leaves me ready for grocery shopping today. Yesterday, I had this longing for fudgey brownies so I made a pan and gave half to Ellie. It is a simple, but lethal recipe.
Fudgey Brownies
Melt two sticks of real butter then add i/4 cup of cocoa, 2 cups of packed brown sugar. Then beat in six eggs one at a
time and add one cup flour. If they don't look chocolatey enough you can always use more cocoa. Bake at 350 degrees and don't let them overcook. I always add a cup of pecans to the batter but walnuts are even better. There is no baking powder and very little flour. I ice them with
chocolate frosting and it is like pure fudge. I am flirting
with the idea of using caramel chips in them.
I love to bake on gloomy winter days. The fragrence of
coming from the oven makes the goom more bearable.
