This morning I had to leap out of bed and get ready to drive the twenty miles to town to get my feet fitted for the inserts in my shoes. Of course I had to wait and while I waited the only magazine available was for men.
There was an article about romantic love and the trauma of the end of a relationship. It likened it to be as almost as severe as the loss of a child. All parents know that this is as severe a loss as one will ever have to bear.
I was surprised at finding this in a magazine for men. Women are usually thought to be more romantic than men. I think it probably depends on the kind of person that you are. If very loyal, it would certainly be a traumatic loss.
It made me wonder about the warning signs of a waning relationship. I think they would be red flags leading toward the exit.
Sadly, marriage has become serial monogamy for a lot of
people. The relationship is so intimate that you can be irked by the smallest thing. Chewing gum is a pet hate of mine. We all have annoying habits. The way we cough and sneeze for example. It takes a lot of love and forebearance to make it work.
