We had a wonderful road trip to Carthage Missouri this weekend. It just wasn't long enough. It is very close to the Truman Presidential Library and we weren't able to squeeze it in this time. I went with the sole purpose of buying a King size quilt. A man makes them, hand quilts them and sells them for 79.00. I found a beauty in all shades of light blue in the Wildflower pattern.

Of course while we were there, we had to do the antique shops and I found a gorgeous French chest, inlaid and dripping with ormolu. Alas it was sold. They were going to contact the man who bought it and see if he still wanted it. He bought it six months ago and they were tired of storing it. I have not recieved a call back so evidently
he is coming after it. Talk about love. This chest sent me into a state of rapture since it matches a cabinet I have.


This time I had sense enough to take along clorox wipes.
They are wonderful for wiping up spills and washing hands. However, we forgot our coffee suitcase and missed it a lot.
The motel where we stayed had muddy sludge coffee.

We did the rubber necking tour of the Victorian houses and it was wonderful as always. Carthage is supposed to have more per capita than any other town in the United States.

It was great to get away and Carthage is only about four hours from our house. It is such an interesting place
and we love going there.
