The five p. m. evening news last night was like a soap opera. Full of drive by shootings, love gone wrong and
fiery automobile wrecks.
We no longer seem to have the great thinkers whose words have in turn caused us to ponder over more than day to day existence.
Instead, we have celebrities telling us what to read, what to wear, how to vote and how to love. Never mind that most of them have an IQ below plant life.
I am very guilty in getting so caught up in every day life
that I don't dwell on the big questions. Never the less,
our planet is in grave danger from global warming, over
population, and nuclear threat.
Every afternoon I pick up Adrienne from middle school and I see seventh and eighth grade girls strutting around
in seductive low cut tops and tight pants. They look
eighteen. They are still children and need to stay
children until they are emotionally more mature. What are their parents thinking?
Remember the decline and fall of Rome? History seems
to be repeating itself.
