
I mean that literally and not as a figure of speech. One of our publication officers had this image in his newsletter and I was so awestruck by it that I had to post it here.
The article was about how these things are TOWED out of shipping channels. They use massive tugs to tow icebergs and the one pictured above was estimated to weigh about 300,000,000 tons! I had no idea that they could do anything like that, but it makes sense. If currents cause them to drift into the channels, then obviously they are mobile and can be moved out again.
The picture was taken by a diver. Beautiful, isn't it?
