Ok, not older than dirt, but very, very old. An antique dealer in Boston got a hold of a piece of furniture about 1000 years old. It was crumbling apart and beyond repair, so he cut out the front panels and sold them individually. Another dealer whose wife was in the business, gave me this and one or two other pieces after his wife died. Once, it was colorfully painted but the enamels chipped off likely hundreds of years ago. I still think it is quite beautiful.



The same man gave me this lamp. It is a Russian samovar dated 1862. Guess the tea pot was always missing because someone converted the base into a lamp long ago. The wiring was old and frayed and I had to replace it along with adding a new shade.

What made me post this? A friend of mine on Facebook had a post about antiques, but I have all of TWO posts over there---and I prefer to post here. I absolutely play favorites!
