
I like fiddling around with pastels. I don't over rate my pastels and even keep them in a separate file on my computer- apart from the 'real' art.
Remembering Randy's observation on the woman bending over to pick up a child in another painting (and how her butt stuck out), even though the title of this one is "Lunch in the Park", I guess I'll have to sub-title it, 'Bertha Big Butt". I didn't bother drawing the birds in high detail; mostly just a bunch of chalk marks, and I deliberately softened the back ground.
This has been a good exercise for me because I see what I am not drawing- or painting. I am not drawing/ painting light. Shadows, yes, light no. Something else to focus on this year....
