Ok, who is that handsome man standing beside me? Hint: He blogs here by the name of a card game that one plays by themselves. Dared not word that, "...with oneself". Now, that could have taken me down the wrong path altogether!
Now that I have been "found out", I might as well fess up to how ditzy I can be sometimes. I mentioned that I was going on a cruise to the Bahamas. (Photos later.) I told my dog sitter, my family and all of my Auxiliary contacts that I was coming back on Thursday. Wednesday night while out on the cruise, I learn that the boat did not dock until Friday! How many people go on a cruise and don't even know when they are due to come back? There is a reason why I thought it was Thursday, but the explanation is another needless paragraph. Thank goodness I had extra clothes and my sister did not call the Coast Guard and report me missing!
Randy (solitaire)and I made plans for him to stop here on Saturday night. For reasons that I cannot explain, I thought he would arrive on Sunday night. When Randy rang the door bell I was covered with oil paint and turpentine (lovely aroma), no bra or make up, and raggedy clothes. Then I glared at him through the side window. My face must have clearly said, "Can't you read? No Soliciting!" Thank goodness the words never passed my lips, but I'll bet dear Randy will think twice before stopping at my house again! BTW: The photo was taken after I cleaned up a bit for dinner. Randy treated me- but after that less than welcoming reception, Lord only knows why.
Randy noted my clocks and tried to compliment me on my timeliness(?) because all of them were already set for Daylight Saving Time when he arrived on Saturday night. Even I knew my response bordered on bizarre: they have been set on Daylight Saving Time since last spring because I never reset them in the fall! At least he could laugh, and we had a lovely evening. This morning he is off on his camping trip.
Life around me is never dull or uninteresting. I live by my favorite quote:
"Life is too important to be taken seriously."
Oscar Wilde
P.S.: I posted all of this last night and made some replies to other people's posts, but all of them are gone this morning. Twilight Zone gone rampant in my life?
