I'm sorry in advance but this post is definitely going to piss somebody off. The reason being is that it involves my opinion involving the rights of the homeless. That opinion is involving homeless people having pets. Dogs to be more specific. I saw a homeless guy at Safeway with three dogs in tow. These poor pooches looked very skinny and sad. They had ropes tied around their necks(no collars.) I think that you need to have your life in order before you have a dog. I could tell he was homeless because he was pushing a cart with what looks like all of his possessions. Plus he had a sign that said "Homeless: Anything will Help. God Bless." I think that if he had three children in tow instead of dogs, those kids would be in foster care in a matter of minutes. I think that it's cruel to subject your dog to that kind of life. They need a warm place to stay just like everyone else. They need food on a regular basis and constant love. This guy looked like he was using the dogs to help pull the cart. It's too bad we have only two(up until a month ago one)animal control officer for the whole county. 95% of the homeless people here on the coast just need to either kick the booze or the drugs. I saw a guy once begging for money at this same Safeway then ten minutes later buying a case of Keystone Light. That's why I won't give any money to them. Like I said, they need to kick the drugs or the booze and get a job. There are organizations that will help them do that. Please don't bring your dogs down with you.
'nuff said.
