Bigotry

I wrote a few posts back about race. How we are all one race: Human. I would like to elaborate on how I was once narrow minded. Warning: there may be some offensive words in this post. I'm sorry in advance. I'm using them for impact on how powerful they can be.
When I was a kid my parents were not selective on what they talked about in the home. Especially my father. I thought nigger, spic, faggot, queer, dyke, and chink were normal words for blacks, hispanics, gays, lesbians, and asians. It wasn't until I used those words that I realized that they were bad words that ended up getting me in trouble at school. I didn't realize the impact those words had on people. I was also brought up that being gay was an abomination on god and race mixing was also an abomination. I went through my childhood, teen years, and some of my twenties believing that way. For years I believed that if I talked to a gay man he would try to pick up on me. I was one of the worst homophobes in the world. PD couldn't believe what a homphobe I was. It took me meeting some gay men that made me change my mind. They are the brothers-in-law of PD's boss. They are the coolest guys in the world. Now I've got another gay couple as friends. I call them the computer dudes because they custom build computers and repair them. They are kind of cool for tech geeks...just kidding. They are also actors in the local community theater. I'm even coming around on the whole race mixing thing. My cousin married a guy two years ago that happens to be Mexican. He's a nice guy even though my cousin treats him like crap. Right before their wedding she was a real beeeeeotch (at least that's what I was told since I was unable to attend.) Another cousin has two biracial kids out of wedlock and one of PD's cousins had one too.
I guess this post is an apology for my past behavior and to tell you I'm officially a better man.
'nuff said.
