Battlestar Galactica

One more week and Battlestar Galactica finishes up its final season. This isn't the campy version from the 70s. This is a racier, edgier version. Some of the character names from the original series are used but the characters are changed. The plot is still the same. Twelve colonies are destroyed by the Cylons. Survivors band together in clunker spaceships to find the thirteenth colony on a planet called Earth.

Commander Adama: He's still in charge of the Galactica. He has a first name, Bill, and is now an Admiral.

Apollo: He's been given a real name, Lee Adama. He's still the son of Commander, excuse me, Admiral Adama. Apollo is his pilot call sign. He's now in politics.

Starbuck: Is now a girl name Kara Thrace. Starbuck is her call sign. Occasionally gets a booty call from Apollo.

Boomer: Also a girl and a copy of Cylon Model 8. Another model of 8 is known as Athena. Both go by the name Sharon.

Colonel Tigh: He's an old crusty white guy instead of a suave black dude. He goes by the first name Saul and recently outed as a Cylon. He's one of the missing final five human model Cylons.

Baltar: Is a whiny arrogant pussy instead of a scheming warlord. He has a first name, Gaius. Like in the original he betrays the human race to the Cylons(only accidental in the new version. He's banging model 6 and she gains the access codes to their defense system.)

The Cylons have human models as well as metallic robots. The metallic ones still have the one red moving eye but look different than the ones in the 70s (they did have some of those versions in the BSG movie Razor. They were considered the older versions.) There are twelve human models. Seven were known. Four were sleepers among the human fleet of the Galactica and one is yet to be discovered. Each of the seven known ones have copies of themselves and up until recently were able to download into a new body when they died. I don't want to spoil anymore in case anyone wants to rent past episodes including the mini-series pilot.

I recommend this to any sci-fi nut. It is a very political show at times. I can't wait to see how it ends.
'nuff said.

I'm gonna take a "guess".. you are probably a "Trekkie" and "Star Wars" junkie too?

Personally, Yes of course I watched "Battlestar Galactica", as well as "Star Trek". They all were cool...

But to me.. Star Wars was the only "REAL" (superstar movie). I will buy every "Starwars" videogame... I'll buy every DVD... I wouldn't "Battlestar Galactica". Nice, but not a classic...

But hey, this is just me

My neighbor is one of the missing Cylons. I'm sure of it.
