Well, the last I heard, Clinton did not pull out of the race...she was prepared to, but chose to examine people's opinions first. Obama gave an awesome speech of thanks and encouragement, but it wasn't a victory speech. Matter of fact, it included praise of Clinton and how, between the two of them, had garnered up so much support in numbers for the Democratic Party. McCain had also made a speech earlier which include a lot of referencing to Obama. (I suppose a Clinton decision could occur at any moment so maybe you do know something that I just haven't heard about yet.)

Horsing around and goofing around are great ways to release some laughter and energy while having a little harmless silly fun. Add on all the other neat stuff and it all sounds really, really good.

All seems to be going well. I think it's great that your friend will be visiting...it will be nice for both her and you to be able to be together.

I haven't read any of your books, I'm sorry to say...but, I can sure as heck change that, can't I? Yes, you should be working on that fourth book, but if you don't mind, before you work on anything, could you provide me with a list of your book titles? Thank you.

I don't know why you might have been visited, either, but keep in mind that not all visitors necessarily agree or like who or what they are visiting. Sometimes, it is just to "see" what is being said or discussed, just to know what the "general mood" is or what subjects are currently the "hot topics". I don't know if you are familiar with Pat Robertson or the 700 Club (a religious-runned/backed news and faith individual and show with some tremendous popularity). I do not agree or like most of what is discussed/presented by him and his colleagues on that show, but I do tune in to see what information is being poured out to the "faithful" because it often helps to sense an upcoming wave of opinion and movement. But, sometimes, some people just like to spy on what others are saying or doing ...it gives them something to talk about (often behind the backs of those spied on) or to help fuel their own bigotries and efforts to convince others to believe in the same. I wouldn't worry about it, though, and I wouldn't bother to do anything. It's only your suspicions about it right now that are the issue, not that there is any ground for believing that anything is actually wrong.

Imagine finding bombs still around from WWII. It's hard for me to realize that this can still be happening, especially in a city where so much development has already taken place...you would think they would have all been found by now. I'm actually glad that you got delayed by all the detours and traffic because I know you avoided something that could have been devastating. As the saying goes, better late than never.

This was great! I loved it! Now I know exactly what you're talking about because, although I've seen all sorts of pictures with orange displayed, I've never seen it in such a "typically expected" way. It's sort of like some of our sports' fever times when EVERYBODY seems to be wearing or showing team loyalty colors and logo items, but it's really neat to see everybody all behind the same team, country, and color.
Comment on My Fav Commercial - June 4, 2008 9:12 AM ()
I have long known about the "orange" tradition and why that color is connected, but I always have had a fascination for hearing about and seeing it. Of course it should give you goose pimples (not just pimples...I'm correcting you lovingly) because you should feel a sense of national pride. I enjoyed your post and I did learn something new because I didn't realize that people actually pained their houses orange. That must really be a sight.

I think it's sad for any government or leader to exercise such bigotry. It is criminal to mistreat ANY person simply on some "differences", regardless of what those differences are. I will not condone such behavior and I do not condone such behavior, but I must play the devil's advocate here and state that there are laws and such often in place that still must be obeyed. I think it is wrong to discriminate...however, if it is my home or my yard or my country (meaning I am the one put in control), then I can do what I feel is best for the safety and comforts of my family, friends, neighbors, and/or citizens. Others may not see it as right, but it may be what is wanted by those in charge (and maybe by the people themselves). The thing is, in this case, there are a lot of criminal injustices being committed by a lot of innocent people who do not deserve it ... but, remember, they are all perceived as violators of the law(s) and beliefs. You have to admit one thing, though, a warning was issued to allow for "people in fear" to get out, which is more than can be said for some places. If there's going to be a "raid" to clear out these unwanted people, it could be as bad as what we've all heard and read about in history books. Not all ever had "fair" warning. Again, mind you, I do not condone anything, I'm just pointing out some arguments that seem to exist.

Only lightly, huh? I don't know if that's funny or sad.
Comment on My Nerd Score (Thx Dale..) - June 4, 2008 8:34 AM ()
I think a lot of artists will recognize and pay tribute to Bo. There may be some who have tried to hide the sound and influence, but I think many appreciated and liked it enough to want to incorporate in their songs. So, I don't think they were/are all hiding it, I think they just built on it. To do anything exactly like Bo would have been copying, and that would be foolish. So, they took that driving "style" and added their stuff to that base. There's nothing wrong with that because it proves that good stuff starts with a good base. Bo is the "raw, rare" form...the sound has grown. (If music didn't do that, we'd all still be listening to Gregorian chants and mistrals.)

Well, if we had no change, I'd be living in a country where I might not have a bank account in my name only, be comfortably living with Edie, had gotten the kind of therapy I needed when I needed it (compared to the way conditions/treatments used to be)...heck, my parents wouldn't even be in the type of housing they are in. But, like I said, respect and responsibility were not intended to be sacrificed when changes do occur.

I'm still around, just more irratically than usual. I've fallen behind in reading, so I haven't been posting all that "smoothly". Then, when I'm posting, I'm not reading and commenting so "smoothly". Plus, I've had to tend to other sites I go to, too, because I'm behind on those, too. All due to having more off-computer things going on, but I am still here. (Not here specifically...I don't come here as often as other sites, but I do when it gets to the point that I have catching up to do.)

You already know how fond I am of my high school years and how close I have stayed with many of my classmates. If you want an idea of how attached I really am, you can check something out on MySpace. (By the way, how come we're not friends on MySpace?)

Anyway, listening to certain music or being in a particular place can trigger those nostalgiac thoughts. I'm glad to hear that yours are good ones.

I've heard of this one, not sure if the book or the movie. I don't know if it's anything I feel I have to read or see, but I haven't ruled it out, either.
