After just reading Troutbend's post about the selection of mimosa yellow being the 2009 Color of the Year, I just had to go see what that color really looked like. I had gotten the impression that it would be a warm, an awakening sort of yellow. Well, the color is warm and it is yellow, but it's a little more gold than I had imagined.



So, I wanted to see how and why this color got to called mimosa yellow. It turns out that the color resembles the blossoms on a mimosa tree. So, I checked that out, too.



Well, there was really only one other thing to check out because it was also mentioned that the color resembled the color of a mimosa cocktail.



I feel my research is now over. I'm not sure if I care to redecorate my apartment in that color, I'm not sure if I'll ever see one of those trees, but I do know that I can enjoy one of those drinks!
