What's on My Nightstand

I understand that there's been some posting here on the subject of nightstands or, to be more specific, what is to be found on nightstands. I became aware of this blogging "phenomenon" after reading AJ's post on this subject. So, I decided to use the same idea and make my own post.

It seems that nightstands are considered to be very important pieces of furniture. Because they are normally the first thing seen in the morning and the last thing seen at night, they hold a special place in our lives. And because nightstands tend to be so close to us at those times, within reach of our first waking moments and our last ones, the things we need or want to see (and have close by) tend to be located on them.

So, what's on my nightstand? One little seated baby figurine and a small angel figurine that used to be on my childhood dresser that my mom saved and then gave back to me when she and my dad were preparing to move from their home to an apartment. There's a Bible, the one my grandfather received as a gift and it sits in an engraved wooden case. My cell phone, my wallet, and my camera are also sitting right on top within an easy reach. And, there's my Mickey Mouse nightlight...the Sorcerer's Apprentice's hat lights up with a touch of a finger on the button near his feet. There's also a small bank of sorts to catch any loose change I may have to add to it, and usually one or more books on the open shelf that sits just a bit lower. And, finally, just enough space for me to place/keep my glasses for when I am sleeping.

So, what's on your nightstand?
