It Hasn't All Been Bad

With so much talk about Edie being in the hospital and her current medical concerns, my mother's medical tests, and how my job has been requiring me to juggle both working at the office and at home, it may seem that my life has been filled with nothing but work, obstacles, worry, illness, and the like. However, this is not entirely true.

You see, with so much of that "stuff" going on, I wasn't able to just sit back and enjoy sharing the memories of better things with you. But, there have been some really good experiences that I have enjoyed, too. Like going to see A Chorus Line, for instance.

Edie and I attended the opening night performance of A Chorus Line at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) and here is a picture of me in the theater's foyer. We were there so early that we may have been the first ones there, but the crowd gathered shortly afterwards. It was a tremendous show that we both enjoyed very much.

At the end of that same week, which was the weekend before Easter weekend, we had "babysitting duties". Edie's nephews sure aren't babies anymore, but they're still obviously too young to take care of themselves. I watched them during the afternoon while Edie was at work, then we both watched them until Edie's sister-in-law came for them at night. Here the boys are posing with the Nascar driver Carl Edwards, a cut-out figure Edie had gotten them from an old display at the store where she works.

Then, on Palm Sunday, my mom and I went to an Easter show at the Calvary Church in Fall River, Massachusetts. We've attended the Christmas show for a number of years now, making it a tradition for the two of us to do every year. We started going to the Easter show a few years ago, but we missed last year's performance, so we really enjoyed being able to attend this year and the time we got to spend together. Here's my mom returning to her apartment after the show.

And, then there was Easter. It was a cool, but very nice Sunday. With Edie just home from the hospital, Mom and Dad thought it best if we had dinner at their place. Here I am outside of their apartment.

Dinner wasn't quite ready so it was not yet time to eat, but, as you can see, Edie wanted to get a sneak preview, so she helped herself to some asparagus.

Dinner was officially served at 12:30 and here's my dad working on filling his plate.

There certainly was plenty of food. Mom decided to start digging in.

If you must know, this was what I had to eat. And, as soon as I put down the camera, I was digging in, too.
