I wrote about my apprehension for working in the office and co-running the business with another employee while my boss is in the hospital because of all the critical details that are required and all the information that needs to be known and understood. As nervous as I am, I still feel I can do it...and the best way to do it is to "get on with it". So, I was ready for my first "plunge" today because my boss was seeing his doctor this morning and would be unavailable for most, if not all of the day.
So, I go into the office this morning...a bit hesitant, but as ready as I was going to be. And, who is sitting at his desk? Yep, my boss! He got a call and is now going to see the doctor late this afternoon! He didn't call me because it was before my usual starting time, he knew I was out, but he was going to call me at home at precisely 9:30, my normal starting time.
What this meant was that I was "dismissed" and sent back home, back to do my usual routine of just answering the phone, answering callers questions, and scheduling inspections. So, it's back to waiting-for-that-first-day again and it's beginning to drive me crazy! (No, it's unlikely it will be tomorrow, but my boss MAY know better after he talks to his doctor today.) Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!
