Sounds like you have exactly what you want. The hours are your own....we all have the same number in our days....as long as we're spending them the way WE WANT TO...it doesn't matter. You do what makes you happy and it sounds to me like you are truly happy! Hugs to ya'll!
Working in the "gated communities" when we were in Florida, made me realize how much I DON'T want to live in a control environment like that. It seems there always have to ones that are royal pains in the arse! Now I must confess.....I am one who will occasionally wear my white socks with my birkenstocks.....but that's only cuz my feet are freezing and I am not ready to put my tennies on! And I must confess further, I do wear them out and about in town sometimes (so shoot me!!) I guess I've gotten to a point where I really don't care much what people think....but I do cringe when I see men wearing white socks with dress pants. (Is this called double standard? So shoot me twice!) LOL LOL
I've heard it said that they expect the prices to suddenly drop (yea right!) I used to work for a big oil company, and it still bugs the schit out of me that the prices keep going up, right along with their "record profits" each quarter!! We're around $3.64 right now....but the slick one drives a diesel pickup and it's well over $4.30 - getting closer to $5.00 a gallon every day. (I think last I saw it was 4.38) We all just have to find ways to entertain ourselves that don't take much gas or money to do. I know I can be creative when I really have to be! You can too!
OMG!!! The description of the food is enough for me to say "I'm staying right here in the good ol' USA. I'm glad it was an adventure that you liked...we all gotta do what's right for us....overseas just doesn't sound right for me!!
I'm glad you didn't crash.....and definitely TRUST the sign....but DON"T trust that unknown man! And you are not a FA......we all have to work hard to look ourselves in the mirror and see the beauty...beyond all the flaws. Like in a book I've been reading, says something like 'instead of looking in the mirror in the morning and seeing old, fat, wrinkled, whatever....look yourself in the mirror and say GOOD MORNING YOU GOOD LOOKING THING YOU!' It has always infuriated me when people would make comments like "well she may have been raped but she had it coming...look at how she dresses". Same type story here....and that judge should be right alongside the perp....cleaning toilets in a mini-skirt (like Jon said!!). (Oh my....now that is a mental image that I wish I didn't have!!!)
Forget the car....I'll take the island and the house!!!! I see room to put in at least one short hole for practice...and a nice putting and chipping green!!!
I'm so happy for you and Don! I know it seems like it will be an eternity until all of this is over and you two can move on with your new life with Don. Oh that sounds so wonderful! And let me just say....what is wrong with stopping the actual PLANS at: "I envision a picnic of wine, strawberries, cheese and....." let the rest of the chips fall where they may! Don't apologize for the way you feel. Enjoy it, treasure it, and then go wipe that silly grin off your face....of wait, it won't come off! I know...been there, done that...no, been there, DOING that myself. Oh a woman after my own heart! I am a bird-watcher....come from a family of bird watchers too. My grandpa was a member of the Audubon Society...and that love of birds was passed down to all of us. I was so excited last week when I sat on the porch and watched a humming bird feed on the flowers of the Dogwood tree that is right outside the screen. Then a wren landed on a branch nearby too. Many woodpeckers, etc too. When I was in Iowa, I kept track of all the different birds I would see in our backyard at the feeders. And living right in the heart of town, it seemed to be a real treasure. It's a hobby I will need to get more involved in again. I do so love it!

Dearest T, That was hilarious! The only thing sad about it is that people are that stupid! We have some clips on the computer of newspaper headlines...one that always makes me laugh is a big bold screaming headline that reads something like "15 remain dead in morgue bombing"!!!Miss ya bunches! I've wondered the same thing. Also never made sense to me that I could buy a little tiny pair of shoes for a 1 year old (ok - this was a long time ago!) and they cost more than MY shoes! Same thing with clothes.....the world makes no sense sometimes! I have a funny story about a stereo that I will have to blog about....maybe I'll go write it right now!
