I just got back from Ypsillanti. Actually I had a pretty good show. Plus we had a bad location.

We were able to "double up" on my child support for the month (I owe acreage anyway), pay for the well pump, get a few hundred in groceries, shoot some money to a homeless guy, Order supples for the next 3 shows or so, and help Paul (because he didn't do crap this weekend). Plus I got money left over.

So I was sitting there thinking. Damn, if we had a "top spot" (hundreds of vendors there), I could make a killing.

Well.. I walked past the beer tent. Before it opened even. I seen the show promoters all sitting there. So I went in to talk and ask some questions. Remember, this was the last day of the show, all seen me working. So since I knew it wasn't busy yet.. I asked if I could "buy a beer". No, we're not "Open".. but you can have a free one.. lol. I got a few free. Not enough to get me drunk.. just enough to relax me.

It's like a "committee" of people who promote this event. It's a HUGE Event. I was talking to all, all asking ME questions because they know I've been in this business all my life. Asking me what to do to change their even't (Make it better). Kinda funny to me. Some there said, "Oh, I've seen you at other events".. been looking for you. HA.. to me, I just got a PERFECT IN for next year. I cut a FREE one for one, talked alot to the "Top Dudes". Next year.. I can basically pick wherever I want to be set up. I just need my fee in by "Feburary" so they don't sell the space. They kinda wanted me to pay today.. but NO, I really don't do that. I was just happy I got a few free beers, got to talk to the promoters in a personal way. Also wanted the "lowdown" on the Riot yesterday.

So I went back to the booth. I then had non-stop orders to do till it closed. Roxann was a little pissed I left, but hey.. this is what "I DO" and I am quite good at it actually. I am "Padding my future". It's as "important" to "hob - knob" with event promoters as sales. Plus, she has my cell. She can call (And she did) to say I have orders. I can tell her how long I expect to be gone. Come back.. do the orders. It's a Festival. Doesn't make a difference to anyone if the order will take "10 minutes or 30 minutes".

Paul left Saturday to do a "Christian Biker" event in Kalamazoo. Like 2 hours away. He was here today. He made some money there, not alot. My sales triple (at the very least) his always. So I know what I would've made there. I know what he made. Anyway,,

Paul got us some good "IN's" while there. I'm telling you, this guy "Loves to talk" and he is GREAT at it! Me.. I am "on or off". I am good when I "wanna be" I guess.. but not always. I seem to meet all the "top promoters", all the "bands" everyone in a show. So.. guess I ain't bad at this.. lol.

Next weekend. We got a private "Invite" for a HUGE Christian Biker event Saturday". Free show fee. Only 20 minutes from me. The next day "Sunday" we were invited to set up on another "race track".. free too.. lol. So I think I'll do both.

Paul is "Using me". I am "using him". But in a "GOOD WAY". Paul knows the "attraction" my booth has. Nobody would deny that. Paul knows, with us "partners", he gets 10 times the people seeing his stuff. I know "this sucker" loves to talk. I know he is "gung ho" talking to the promoters, getting us in. Using my name works for him.. and I don't have to talk much. Of course I will talk, and my own way. Just.. as much of that I can take away from me, happier I'll be. We always get eachother to help sell if one left for a few. We always have eachother if one breaks down on the road or something. It's a "win-win" to me.

Positively.. Any show we do, our booth is the biggest attraction. We know that, the promoters know that. That's why we get so many deals. Yet.. right now.. it's too (I'll say) cumbersome. We have been doing ALOT of talking about this. We are gonna build an entirely new display. Space saving, put out more product. I am "certain" him and I together.. can make this work quite well. It's just now time to put the plans in action.

I'd say. By next year. Our "system" will be "DOWN". I know what I am doing, but working with a partner is a different deal. We want to go in with the most "Awesome" display anyone ever seen. The product is already. I'll keep ya updated. I know we can.
