---------------

Today I have been signing up for shows. For those new to my blogs and don't know, I'll explain briefly what I do.

I cut coins. I make names, logos, and other designs into US and foreign coins. I have an unlimited amount I can do. Want your school logo, I can. Favorite band, I can.

For the past 24 years now, I have been doing this for a living. I've slowed down in recent years (for various reasons) but starting soon (this summer) I plan to hit an event every single week. I have done shows in Florida (Daytona Bike week my Favorite there). Georgia (I really liked setting up on the NASCAR track). New York (I did alot of malls around Niagra Falls.. was fun). Been all over in Michigan doing: malls, biker events, fairs, car shows, concerts, really wherever I feel I will make the most money. I've done thousands of shows in many states.

Today I called on the "Island show" in Saginaw Michigan. I am about 95% positive I will be in that show. I called kinda late, so there is a chance I can't do it. Most I try, I get into as I have a unique product. This show is sponsored by their local Radio station KCQ 98 FM. It's a free event for people (not vendors.. lol), and 80,000+ people come to this island to see dozens of Country bands play. All well known't or big stars.

This year, the big 3 performers are: Travis Tritt, Jamey Johnson, and Jessica Andrews. I don't know much about these, because I don't listen to that country music crap.. but I know alot of you might know who they are. Most likely, I will have a vendor spot positioned between the two main stages. I'll be working my ass off, but I can see whatever they have going on. I used to do this show years ago, before I moved to Florida. The cool thing about being a vendor is... you can actually drive your car to the island (across the small bridge.. at one point it's very close to shore). To people the just come to watch, it's free.. but most have to park a mile or more away and walk to the island. I hope I am in this year... the radio station seemed to say "I am", but there are some space concerns. We will see.

Signorinabella commented on my last post, how do I just meet and hang with some of these famous people. Actually, it's by chance really. They hear what you do.. one of their roadies gets something made and shows the band.. things like that. Often you will be in their tour bus later.. lol.

Mainly right now.. my concentration is getting into the big events. I have the product.. and most want me there. But "money" to get in is a different story (up-front). That part is always hard unless you know the promoter well. Which I do most.. but alot of these real big events.. done once a year (Like Bikeweek Daytona)want the money when you sign up. Most 1 or 2 day shows are like $100-$200 for a spot, but something like "Bikeweek" is $1700 for the 10 days. When you think of it, coming up with any of this is hard. That's why I get the major ones, and often end up doing a "rinky dink" show at times I couldn't sign up for something in time.

Anyway... pretty much every weekend starting mid may, I will be somewhere.

Take care all, Gary
