Damn, I am so upset over this. Paul and I set up in "Ypsillanti" today together. He didn't sell "one single thing", and I sold maybe 50 necklaces. It's the slow day (Friday), but this weekend will be "HUGE". I know this show. He is major "disappointed". He already owes us like $100 for the fee. We brought food (He could have whatever he wanted). He wouldn't even eat. He had no money in his pocket, wouldn't borrow more cash. He feels he is "putting" us out. Well was kinda at first. Till I started making money. I know it hurt him every sale I made. When he made none. We covered his show fee's all that. I am trying to help him "best I can", but he is a hard one to accept it.
There are "several" things Paul doesn't understand yet. One, he has been doing shows "6 months". I have done them 37 years (if you count growing up with it). He thinks he knows it all, has all the solutions. To me.. he is a "smart guy", but he misses ALOT. Everysingle thing he thinks, or suggests.. I've already done. I have "37" years experience. I know how to do it. He doesn't. Need's to listen to me more really.
I TOLD him.. "Stock up for this one"! I came in with over $3000 in inventory. He has less then $200 in inventory. Of course I would "overshadow" him. They see "my part" of the display, and are stuck to it. Nobody really looked at his much. Dispite "80,000" people there.
He will not be there tomorrow. He has a show he committed to in "Kalamazoo" (2 hours away) previous. So I will have all the space. I expect to do 3-5 times more tomorrow, then what I did today. I WILL be kicking ASS.. this I know.
Sunday, he will come back here, and work with me. I already decided this one. I'll put my display in the "background", Get his stuff mainly in front. His is "NOWHERE NEAR" the draw mine is. But he really needs the money. I'll lose alot doing it this way,, but I feel it's right. We split the "fee" and I will have top billing all Saturday.
I just hope he can do well "Sunday". I'll update you. I have no questions on what I will do. Unless the "Transmission" on the van goes out. We were "stuck there" awhile when we went to leave. I got it going, but could break at anytime.
Take care, Gary :)
