I've been reading one of the most "interesting" things I think I ever read. It's something I'd like to share here (for those who might be interested).
For like background on me. I like to read about "serial killers, crimes, etc".. basically I am kinda "obsessed" with it. Not because I want to commit a crime, just I like to know the details.. and learn what "lead" to the crime in the first place.
Certain crimes, I am more interested in then others. I've read everything I could find on killers like: "Manson, Gary Ridgeway, Ted Bundy" and others like that. You get the point.
Well yesterday I came across something I never seen before. It was a "partially" written book by "Susan Atkins" (One of the main killers in the Manson Family). It's not finished, it wasn't published. I am not sure why it wasn't completed, but it is "her account" of the crimes.. from an insider perspective. Right now, Susan Atkins isn't expected to live much longer (Cancer, and paralyzed). I am certain it will not be finished.
I started reading this. I still haven't finished it. It's "Long". I have however read most so far and will continue. I thought it was gonna be a "I didn't do it" book, but really it isn't. It is at times.. as I expected. Placing most all the blame on "Manson".. but overall it's a good account telling "why what happened did", and "what the police and prosecutors" had wrong.
I just have to say. For anyone even remotely "interested" in this sort of thing, it's something to read. I find "Susan Atkins" a "Very articulate person". Her memory seems to be "right on".. and her ideas into the "real happenings" (To me), seems accurate. In other words, everything makes sense to me reading her "perspective". The crimes (she admits) were "Gruesome and horrific". Senseless crimes, but had a "reason" behind them. Not the "reason" the media has always portrayed.
I'll say something about me. I read "constantly" (all real life stuff). One of the reasons I have read so much about this case throughout my life (Manson Family), is some things just didn't make sense to me.
Her account, makes "WAY" more sense then anything I've ever read or heard on it. If you ever "followed" this thing, her account is much different then others.
I'm not saying "Susan Atkins" wasn't guilty or her part. She is "jailed for a reason". I do support her "release" (After 40 some odd years in Prison- Even the prosecutor does now, she is basically an "invalid" anyway). She is NO threat to society.
I don't believe she "wrote this" to gain release, or anything like that. I think she wrote to "set some record" straight. I tell you what, she made me a believer. LOL, maybe that means nothing to you all... you don't trust my instincts anyway.. lol.
Give it a read. I'll post the link below. For me, it is by far one of the most "interesting" things I ever read.
