I'm back now. I ended up doing the mall in Lansing.
The decision to do that over the "Flea Market", was mainly due to weather. It was supposed to rain all weekend (which it did). Malls get more people when it rains. Outdoor Flea markets don't. I could have done the Fleamarket, and went on the inside. I just didn't think there would be many customers there. It's not really that big on the inside. And I'm certain no vendors showed up to do the outside part. So I made the best decision out of the two. There were other shows I considered, but I pretty much made my mind up to do one of those. The good thing about Lansing (mall shows), I can stay at Danny's house. It's 45 minutes away, but I don't have to drive back and forth (saves gas)..
I did get to pick my spot. Probably the best spot in the mall, just I couldn't get electric there. No big deal, I can use "cordless" drills for power. I just couldn't hook up my lights.
Jim (with his comics), and I (with the cut coins) didn't do that great. Yes, we made money.. but nowhere near expected. It kinda sucks, when you are able to go to one of the best malls in Michigan (In the state's capital even).. Have such a good "IN" with the mall management, that you get prime location. And even with all that, you don't really do well. It just goes to show, how the ecomony is right now. I tell you, most "small" businesses are really struggling these days. "Fluccking Republicans"!!
Other then that, it was ok. Danny has his mom "Raejean" living with him now. I won't go into details, but they've been fighting like "cat's and dogs".. lol. You'd crack up laughing if I told you the whole story (I can't).. but it's just funny to me how they are both being. I swear, one of these days they'll kill eachother.. lol.
Well, Saturday night we planned to go to the "tittie" bar. Jim said "No way he was gonna sit there all night, and listen to Danny and his mom fight. Sounded good to me, so I was in. Then as the day progressed, Jim heard of a sale at "Applebee's" for "All you can eat Riblets". Both Danny and Jim wanted to do that, so we went there. I didn't eat there. I could've, but I preferred to just have some beers (they was on sale). Besides, I don't eat much at once. I eat alot of small meals during the day, but never a big one. I usually feel I was "ripped off" in the all you can eat places.
Saturday we got there late to the mall. I guess Danny and his mom was arguing the night before. He took some things of hers and hid them, so she took his keys and hid them. I think she would have given them to him in the morning, but both were partying the night before.. and I don't think she remembered where she hid them.. lol. Then Jim's keys came up missing, and he accused Danny's mom. Danny found's Jim's keys in his car, so Jim had to apologise to RaeJean.. lol. Oh she just loved that.. believe me.
Danny didn't do bad at the mall from what I could tell. He sold a bunch of his more expensive items. I know his profit range is less then what we have, but these were high dollar items. I think it worked out for him. Next week they are going to "Traverse City" Michigan (About 4 hours north). They want me to go, but I declined. Not sure where I will be next week, but I will be somewhere.
Oh, kinda cool. A guy came into the mall today. He is from Lansing. Well he bought a coin for his son last year, and his son lost it. He said his son was really upset over that. Well he got looking on the internet to try to locate me. He ended up reading my blog in "Blogster" which said "I moved to MyBloggers". Anyway, my last blog in MyBloggers I mentioned I didn't know which show I would be doing. So he came to the mall on hopes I would be there. I was.. lol.. and made about $20 off him. See, if I didn't have a blog, I wouldn't have that sale.
Well, gotta get back to my game. I bought this racing game for $5.00 at Gamespot. I have pretty much given up buying games. There are tons of "Free" (and cool) games on the net now. Especially the current MMORPG. Just this one looked good, and was cheap. So I got it. Heck the graphics rival "Playstation 3" graphics on this computer. That's another thing, I wouldn't buy a PS3 now either. System is expensive, games are expensive. You can get the same quality from your computer (If it's semi current). Just add a "controller", and it's just the same. Even better n alot of areas.
Oh.. last thing.. I also ordered a bunch of CD's and a book (from eBay) about Visual Basic 6.0 programming. I'm still doing that (I'm determined). I'm getting better and better. It's just something I like to do.
Ok.. take care all!
