Kevinshere?
I know your from "Australia". What I don't know is "exactly how" people think over there. I am interested though.
I wonder what you think about "American" gun laws. I've had friends online (through the years) from all over. I had this "Police officer" friend from "Scotland", that I talked to for years. Super nice woman, she sent us "packages" filled with all sorts of stuff from there. The only time we "really" disagreed, was when it came to "guns". She was a "cop", and only had a "billyclub" (guns aren't allowed there mostly). She hated "guns", and hated the fact so many Americans support them so much.
I just wonder "your" take on the subject. Rather, the main "Australian" take on the subject.
In America, the NRA is a big thing. Most people don't see this yet, but "Ted Nugent" (The rock star) is about to become the next head of the NRA. He is a "board member". He supports "100% total gun rights. I don't. I think he's a cool dude mostly. He grew up in my area, and owned land less then 2 miles from where I used to live. I'm a huge "gun" supporter, but not to the extent he is. If it were up to him, everyone should have "guns", no restrictions. I'm not that way. I support gun rights, but I support restrictions.
To me, the average citizen here should have the "right" to keep and bear arms. Felons convicted of a violent crime should have that right removed. Nobody should be allowed to have guns "like an UZI", that could empty a shopping mall in seconds.
In America, there are nearly no laws regarding "long guns". You can buy a "shotgun" at a trade show with virtually "no" background checks or anything. I agree with that personally. Handguns are harder. There are checks and such. My younger brother has a "concealed" handgun permit. He owns a construction company, and carries a "357 mag" everywhere he goes. I'd actually support "handgun" laws to be "lessened" here in the USA.
I'm just wondering what you all "think" over there. So if you read this.. say your opinions.
Take care, Gary :)
