A Journey Into My Life

Freedom

Alot of people don't feel the same about "freedom" the way I do. I guess I don't understand them. All I can do is say what I think on the subject.

Alot (and many reading this now) feel "smoking is bad". It is, and all who smoke know it. To me the person who chooses to "smoke" should be able. Not taxed to hell over it. In a way to "control" the person. I understand that "health care" costs rise because of smokers. But I wonder how many "overweight" people are the ones that want "smoking banned". If you weight "200+" lbs, you got no room to talk. As many of you die from that, as smokers. I don't say.. hey "Obama", lets make a "Donut" tax. Keep all those fatties from eating too much. You know as well as I "Obama", those fat ones.. all they do is spend our tax money. They got "Medicade", all that,, Every single "donut" they eat costs ME money. Even if not on Medicade, they make private insurance rates go up.

Alot of you are for "Helmet laws for motorcyclists", for "seat belt laws". I am against both. Now I know they save lives. But that still takes away freedom. I am AGAINST helmet laws, but personally I wear one. You have the choice in Florida, not in Michigan. I wear one wherever just because I've had some major accidents. I wouldn't be alive without it. Still, it should be a basic freedom of choice. I'll tell everyone I know they "should wear a helmet", but on the same sense.. I will "oppose" any helmet law".

You own those big ass cars. I'll ride a motorcycle. Who's polluting the environment more? Should you get the "big ass tax"? Think about it.. when you drive.. you are polluting my air.

To me, it's all in the "mix". We all should have the freedom to do what we want. Stop all the "nit-picking" because when you think about it really. We ALL do stuff "unhealthy", we all do things to cause "costs to rise". Nobody (no particular) people should be singled out.

Public schools should not teach "religion". Neither should they teach "evolution". That's for the home environment. The reason, is nobody should be "led" to a particular belief. I see nothing wrong with kids going to school with the "Quran, or a Bible". Just do it at lunch time, it's not for the classroom. Schools are Public funded.. and our public happens to be very "diverse". If I lived in a community that was mostly "Muslem", I wouldn't want my kids having to say a prayer to "Allah" at school. I'd want the school to be "school". Teach the "known facts". The ones we disagree on.. should be sorted on our own terms.

The point is "Freedom" really should mean.. "You respect all races, beliefs and ideas of others". You don't have to agree.. and you can "speak" against others beliefs. To me you "cross the line", when you try to "impose" your beliefs on another. When you vote against equal "gay rights" you crossed the line. You are "imposing your morality" on another person. When you vote for "helmet laws", or "seatbelt laws", you crossed the line. You just "imposed your beliefs on another human being". When you tell a young Muslem girl, she can't wear her "Parka" in school.. You crossed a line.

I hope you get my point. Hey, I am the "quickest" to say what I don't agree with. But that's "Freedom". I won't try to "impose" anything on anyone. Unless it is "Physically hurting" someone.

There are so many ways people "nit pick". No, I am against that. What the hell do you want to do? Steal that donut out of your neighbors mouth? Snatch that "cigarette"?.. lol.

Live free, and be free people. Let others do so also.

Gary :)
