Detroit Concerts

We just got back from seeing a "concert In "Detroit". No "offence to Draco here". It's not "Portland Oregon".. lol. It's "DETROIT"!!

I don't believe "many" would say the "concerts" in Detroit aren't the "Best in the World". Don't believe me, ask "KISS" who made the song "Detroit Rock City".. ask "Kid Rock", "Bob Segar", "Ted Nugent"..... If there is "one thing" Detroit is known for, it's concerts. Any band that comes here, makes sure it's the "best production" they have.

We went and saw "Big and Rich" tonight. They are basically "country", but have a "rock edge too". I actually thought, I'd be bored off my ass. I found "quite the opposite"! I actually "LOVED" this concert. From the "stage production", to how they talked.. to like "everything". They were "good"!! Really Good!!!!

We got a seat on the "grass" at first. I felt I was like the "concert cop". I told everyone around me. If you "back me up", I'll make sure nobody blocks our view. This worked quite awhile (while the opening bands played). People tried to stand on the "fence" in front of us. I'd get up (helps that I was drinking), and just say "dudes, you can't stand there... your blocking "all our view".. "OK they would say".. and move away. So we had 20 foot clearance for awhile. The rest of the fence was blocked. People like us sitting close.

Just before that, I tapped this lady on her shoulder. She about jumped out of her seat.. lol. I said "I'm sorry, didn't mean to scare you, did I". She says "Yes you did". I said, well we are sitting right behind you. Hope I don't look "mean or something". She said.. "You wanna know the truth, or me to lie" (lol, yes I can look a bit mean and intimidating at times.. but I try not to be). I said.. just back me up. Strenght in numbers. I'm gonna go "clear out all those people on the fence". She became all cool with me soon. And I cleared them out. Remember, I go to these events all the time. I know how to deal with them.

So the "twenty year olds" sitting beside me didn't have smokes. I gave them a few. Then when I seen they were out (they were afraid to ask again), I'd "beem" them in the head with a few others. Basically throw them in their face. Roxann doesn't see the "humor" in things I do.. but they loved it. They were happy to have smokes. They wanted me to buy them beer.. but I didn't. I did supply them smokes all night. I gave some free necklaces before I left.

Once "Big and Rich" began playing, wasn't no clearing the fence. Too many. They (people by me) "invited me up" to a good spot to see them. Soon after "Big and Rich" told everyone in our area, to come up and fill the "high price seats" that weren't used up front. So everyone did.. but still there was a TON of people everywhere. This is a "Detroit concert", they don't lack people.

It was funny to me. Big and Rich (which are mainly country singers), mentioned "MANY TIMES" They were in "Detroit Rock City" (lol.. they aren't even rock). They like "Detroit" and even had a song about it they said they only played "once in concert before". They even sold "t-shirts" mentioning Detroit" and their song.

Anyway, it was fun. We did take "many pics" of the people, the music theater, all that. Most way better then the simple one I posted above. That was like the "first" on the camera, so easier for me to get. Way too late for me to deal with that now (all will have to be re-sized). I can say, I have seen "concerts" all over Detroit, and this is the "first time" I went to "DTE" (Formally Pine knob). It's a really cool place.

Hell, they push "beer more" then "Hotdogs". I was getting hungry, and never seen a "Hotdog vendor" walking around. Yet there were people all over selling "beer" on carts. I promise, wasn't too many people who weren't "drinking there".. That's DETROIT for ya.. lol.

Gary :)
