My Green Thumb

that's a joke, I 've done well with roses, not veggies. This year I put some "herbs" on the side of the house and decided I wanted to plant tomatoes. The only really sunny spot is in the front yard, on the side of the house. If you look outside of the front window, ( from Lynell's room) you can spot the flowers and right beside them, six tomatoes plants. I'm so excited, I found baby tomatoes today.

I too love growing plants, and I seem to be pretty good at it. People often comment on my cactus garden (In CONNECTICUT!) and my large jade plants that are the size of small trees. (I can only take partial credit for this success. The lion's share of the credit must go to the bay window, where these plants reside during the winter months, that gets bathed in brilliant sunshine every day.
My daughter, however, must not have such a window. She's got a brown thumb. Nothing survives her husbandry! I bought her her a sign for her garden once that said, "I tried. It died."

If you mist your tomatoes they will love it. I mist mine all the time. I must have about 2 dozen baby tomatoes hanging off my two plants right now and they are beautiful.

fresh tomatoes from the garden taste light years better than ones obtained from the store. I tried to grow a coupla tomatoes over at Crazy Sis's but someone stole them right off the vine....and they weren't even ripe yet. Those bastids.
