I may have to give up traveling altogether.
In August when I went out west on my first vacation in 10 years, I broke my foot less than 36 hours after I arrived! It still hurts.
I drove my mom to Florida a couple of weeks ago and on the way, I picked up a nasty virus that created ulcers in my mouth, throat and on my tongue.
I had hoped to meet Tealstar or at least chat on the phone but by the time we got to Ft. Myers, I couldn't talk. I couldn't eat either but I didn't lose any weight, darn it.
After watching the inauguration, I tried to find a med center to see a doctor. No luck. Emergency rooms were packed so I finally gave up and went along on my mother's daily trip to Walmart. Brainstorm! I got some Orajel. It helped a lot, but I should have gotten more because the first tube was gone in two days.  I flew home on Wednesday and went to the med center around the corner first thing Thursday morning.
It turned out that the ulcers are very contagious so it' s probably just as well that we didn't get together.  It's been a little more than 2 weeks and my mouth is finally feeling better. I ate a piece of toast yesterday and enjoyed it. That was the first solid food I've had in two weeks. 
The ulcers haven't gone entirely, but they are shrinking and don't hurt as much. I had a physical exam last week and asked my doc about them and she gave me another diagnosis. So, now I have three meds to take and they are leaving! Hurray!
Maybe I should just stay at home from now on! Naw, that's not much safer, I just remembered the accident with the drill and my finger last summer...
