I just noticed that you're the featured blogger! Very cool, Jon.
Love and kisses to your boy.
Oh boy, cell phones and old(er) folks. My mother recently called me to tell me her cell phone wouldn't work - nothing on the screen, no dial tone, no nothing. I sent her to the Verizon store, where they showed her how to turn it back on... Verizon has a nice backup service for phone numbers so if she's with another co., maybe they have one too? Sounds like you're heading for a wonderful getaway!
I'm so sorry, Grumps. Your love for him shines in every single word. It's a beautiful poem.
Why have the CEO's and other bigwigs been allowed to walk out with millions? They should be forced to give it back and then some. Maybe they should be fined the equivalent of the "bonuses" they've been given in the last 8 years. Certainly, they and others members of the super wealthy class - including the Bush clan - can probably fund a bailout all by themselves.
Well, People magazine must have cared. Leno just said they paid him a half million for the story.
I used to love watching the Rifleman. Remember Sky King?
I have the perfect pattern but haven't made it up in black yet. If I put it on my to do list, I'll be 90 before I get to it.
Poor Bouncer, I don't think I could euthanize him at this point either. Give him a big hug and kiss from me and my "girls."
Congrats on your anniversary! Have you tried orthotics in your shoes? Foot docs do them if you have ins. but you can get them from Dr. Scholls too. Nurse shoes, well made walking shoes with laces or anything with good support should help too. Teachers know these things 'cause we're on our feet all day too.
Gee, I'm kind of dealing with this right now. All I did was try to turn the pee cee on (did I mention I HATE that machine?) and it wouldn't go. I kept getting error message that said, "Windows did not start correctly," or some such, so I pressed the keys as prompted and voila, nothing happened. The more I tried, the worse it got. Finally, I found a website that showed me how to boot up from the original installation disk. Tried it and ignored the prompt that said to check for a floppy disc because I KNEW I had removed that... well, after nearly a week of playing with this hateful machine, I'm installing Windows XP all over again. Just what I want to do on this sunny 77 degree afternoon. I don't think I'll lose much but ya never know. I know that a few weeks from now, I won't even remember this so it's not worth getting upset about but still... Sorry about your car misbehaving, esp when you weren't feeling well. Are you feeling better?
Wonderful story! And kudos to you for providing a sanctuary for pets.
Been there done that but you wrote about it much better than I ever could!
Hope you get some good photos to post.
Dogs do see in color - reds and blues and combos of the two are what they see best, at least that's what my therapy dog trainer said. I think cats see colors too but I can't remember which ones.
