What makes my El-Deluxe-O Day?
It's a day of sunshine, whether frigid January or
sweltering August. A sunny day is a rare thing in my area of the world -
we only get about 100 of them in a year. I don't recall ever seeing the
sun in February. It's 28 or 29 days of gray gloom.
Reading is
high on the list of things that make my day. I'll read anything and everything - nothing is safe. I read
everything from cereal boxes to the dictionary. In fact, I love reading
dictionaries. I finished a book by Jennifer Chivarini, The Aloha Quilt, two days ago.
When I get time for introspection, it helps keep me grounded. I ask myself what I can do to
help others? Who could I help? I volunteer for pet therapy at a local
nursing home, but is that enough? I have time to do more.
So, I've been trying to come up with some places or things I can do to
help others.
Ice Cream. Need I say more?
Spending time with my dogs. I love cuddling with them, especially Cassie - the shy one. Walking with Bella is another high. Taking Cassie and Gertie them to the dog park and watching them play. We all love it
when I have time for each one to have their special time, too.
They love to play with me and will even chase a ball in the house.
And
last, when my mom is happy to see me. It makes my day. She positively beamed at me as she came down the ramp from the flight from Florida two weeks ago.
