We have a local Bar and Grill in our little town. It was the best little grocery store I've ever seen for a town this size, but the owners up and sold and now it is a place to eat and drink. Well... I've only been in there twice and both times, I was the only one eating. But, the bar is always busy with cowboys enjoying their beer.
One feels rather out of place when sitting there at a table having a hamburger and coke with these cowboys up at the bar laughing, telling stories, and ever so often, sneaking a glance at this old lady sitting there with her food. Oh well... I was so hungry and to tired to cook dinner, so I just ignored them. It was a good burger.
Now, this bar and grill has a certain ambiance which I'm not sure most of you would appreciate. Every wall has stuffed animal heads or horns hanging on it. There are also pictures with people and their dead animals. One would think you were in a taxidermy shop and not an eating place. I just think of it as a part of the wild western culture of this area. It's just another side of Americana.
Maybe when JR is home sometime, we can go in and saddle up to the bar and order a Bud. You know, you have to say it just right.... "I'll have a Bu-u-u-d." lol
