How about some sort of screen door for the basement like you mention plus, maybe, a humidifier for the room?
Actually we have very little rain--maybe a shower in the afternoon (to get the tourists off the beach so they can take a nap and then get ready to go out for dinner)--in fact the last few years we have gone through a few droughts.
Our 'rainy season' just started and the whole season came in one day--got drenched, flooded, etc., BUT today the sun is out and everything is drying out fast!
I take 14 meds a day--12 are 'given' to me by the manufacturers!
Ah yes, I remember those days--no such thing as 'fake' or 'alternative' news--and we have a Deerfield (we Southerners knew how to spell in South Florida-!) Today a wife getting shot by a jilted lover wouldn't even make the paper. I love reading these old papers and stories--a different world back then.
Politicians do what they have to do--what they feel they must do--what they want to do--point your finger as much as you want it won't doesn't change a thing--for 8 years the Democrats blamed Trump so now for the next 4 years (at least) the Republicans will point their finger at Obama when the finger should be pointed at the voter!
