This weekend was a blur. We went a thousand places Friday and then somehow still managed to dig a hole and put a pond in our yard. We also became the proud parents of a hamster. I have spent countless hours wondering whether it was Grace that got one by me or the hamster.
Saturday was spent at the 3rd Annual West Virginia Kite Day celebration. I had a blast there, and yes, I was the one who didn't want to go because flying a kite would be boring. I did have a great afternoon. Da Man and Grace spent their time flying kites while I snapped pics and rolling around in the grass with Mak.
I do want to point out that we paid $2 for our kite and it flew better and higher than any of the others. I was quite amazed. There were some beautiful kites there, but the people spent more time untangling their lines and picking the kites up than they did actually flying them. Lesson learned: Extravagant is not always better.
We did a lot this weekend. Some of it was fun while the other "some" of it was not. I do know that as a family we had a pretty good weekend. Yay.
I was telling Da Man today that we were actually ahead this month and would have some mad money. Ha. He went outside this afternoon, heading out to his PTSD group, and Daisy, my beloved truck, wouldn't start. That'll teach me to brag about having mad money, won't it? Grr...We can't get it in until Wednesday. I'm half afraid to find out what's wrong with the old girl. But we'll get her fixed anyway because I love Daisy.
I'm going to stop here because I don't really want this to become my "day in the life" blog. I suppose I'll keep the other one for that. It's a must that I stop typing now because it's hard to resist the temptation.
