All Alone and Feeling Weird
The oddest thing has happened. Da Man decided that he and Grace were going on a daddy/daughter date this afternoon, and the baby is sleeping (at least for another couple of minutes), so I am pretty much all alone. And it feels weird.
Grace had her second dance class this morning. Mom went with us. I was quite surprised at mom because she actually stood in the hall with me the whole time. Mom’s not much for standing so it was a pretty big thing. And Grace…
The class ended with the instructor wanting them to touch their feet to the back of their heads. Grace was the only one who could do it. And she did it really well. I mean, she just hung out there, feet against the back of her head. I was in total shock. I looked at mom and, mouth gaping open, asked, “Who knew?” She did so well that the teacher called her back onto the mat by herself to demonstrate for the class. The mothers around us were all about “look at her!” “Oh my!” So, to celebrate, we headed to Wally World and picked up a dance outfit for her.
Choosing the outfit took almost as much time as class. Decisions, decisions. But she chose a light blue number, complete with glitter *roll eyes*. The skirt is attached to the body suit so that was a plus. Three more days left of class and I’m buying the coveted tutu garb. I’m way out of my element. Let me rephrase that: I’m waaaaaaay out of my element.
Da Man was very impressed with her feet to head thing. In fact, after a round of miniature golf they are heading back to Wally World to pick up another tutu thingy because “maybe she won’t want to wear the same thing everyday.” And maybe she will, but I wouldn’t tell him that because he had it all planned out.
So while they’re doing that and Mak is still sleeping, I am going to sit here and work on another post. It’d be nice to be able to pull a doubleheader uninterrupted.
