I am looking to trade for a newer smaller pickup, a 2013 Nissan Frontier, and have a dilemma. The truck has all the features I want but it also has some graphics on the outside that feel juvenile. I want my truck to have some dignity, not be kicky and sporty.
They look like this:
It's an off-road package, and to make it seem fun, there is a tire tread design across the hood, below the doors, and on the back end of the bed along with the model name: Pro-4X. The salesmen were apologetic because the pictures didn't show the graphics, and they said the perfect truck is out there somewhere.
We talked about whether the graphics could be removed and painted over, but concluded that wouldn't work.
Here is a picture of the actual truck, I like the color a lot - it's an unusual shade of metallic blue, and the paint is in really good shape:
There are so many things I like about this one, I don't know what to do. Mr. Troutbend says he never thinks of dignity when it comes to a truck.
If you were some bureaucrat with a government agency, would it destroy my credibility if I pull up in a truck with a tire tread mark across the hood?
Any input from all of you? Thanks.
