Robins!

It's snowing hard today, and all of a sudden 20 robins showed up in the yard, many of them on the bush outside the dining room window where there are berries.

These aren't the first robins, and we even had one staying around the red cabin during the winter months, but this massive invasion is certainly the harbinger of spring.

Sadly we will be having a 'cold' wave coming in Wednesday--will only hit a high of 83 degrees--hey that's what they call a cold wave here!

Sometimes we have humidity waves, and I pretend I'm in Florida.

Poor robins -- the snow must have shocked them. They don't understand about climate change, still flying by the old rules.

We're supposed to have another snow storm this weekend, and the hummingbirds will handle it, but someone was telling me about them snuggling up to Christmas lights (the old big ones), so tomorrow I might put a string out just for fun.

Too late. It's already gone.

We get spoiled by the warm days.

OMG! You take such great pictures.
Shall I send some of our sunny, 20C weather your way?

You could if you want, but only if you have some nice weather to spare. Usually our wet weather comes from your area, but it didn't seem that way this past winter.

I have to get ready for the hummingbirds. Maybe they will be early this year, but usually they get here the first week of May, whether it snows or not. Someone told me about them staying warm by sitting next to those big old-fashioned Christmas lights, so if May starts out too nasty, I might consider putting some out there. On the other hand, they always somehow do fine without that help, so maybe I should just leave them alone.

Throw them some bread crumbs or sunflower seeds.

I baked a pan of cornbread for the birds this morning, but the robins don't seem interested. I was glad to see those berries get eaten.

As is the snow??????????

Even though it's supposed to be 14 degrees tonight, there's a big difference between this spring snowstorm and a winter one because the ground was warm, so it didn't stick to the roads or the river.
