I'm Ready for Winter

Mr. Troutbend is coming here on Friday to help with winterizing the rental cabin and other chores. I could do it myself, but his mother wanted their family to have a meeting regarding estate planning so we are pretending I need his help. I've done most of it, and what's left will take him about two hours to complete. While he's here, I think we'll go out to dinner, somewhere nice to make up for ignoring my birthday and our wedding anniversary.

I tried to talk him into flying here and driving back with me and the cat, but no, he hates flying so much he would rather spend all the money for gas and the time driving both ways by himself.

Well, fine, I'll take my time winding things up here after he leaves. The weather has been so dry, I'd like to see a good snow storm before I go, but I don't think it's going to happen.

For whatever reason it was mentioned, the fact that CA got 2 feet of snow at higher elevations made the news this morning. So ya never know!

It's big news because the el Nino weather pattern has disappeared, and it's looking to be a very dry winter out west unless it shows up again. We squeaked by this year with saved up water from the 2010-2011 winter, but if we don't get some decent moisture in 2012-2013, the midwestern farming area is going to be a dust bowl.

The river is just as beautiful now as it is in the spring. Tell Gary hello.

I was afraid we wouldn't have pretty fall leaves this year, but they did all right. Today is really windy, and the fox was here early, cringing every time a new gust came through.

Thanks for another superb photo. Hope you and Mr. T have a lovely anniversary dinner. I am laughing that he is pretending you need him in order to avoid his family's meeting.

No, he's going to the family meeting. He's pretending I need him so his mother won't cancel the family meeting and then whine for the rest of the winter that they need to have a family meeting, but she doesn't know when. Do you remember how Olive Oyl in the Popeye cartoons would wring her hands and fret? That's Mr. Tbend's Mama.

Oh Shoot. Apparently now our posts are going to have automatic hyperlinks in them. I looked at the html of my post, and nothing there to remove - it's automatic. How extremely irritating. I just want you to know it wasn't my doing. Effing bull___t advertising.

Eddie has to make some income from this spot--we certainly aren't bringing in more bloggers--I find the link unnoticeable--wouldn't haven't even noticed them now if you hadn't mentioned it! LOL

Pretty picture--almost makes me want to come north for the winter---NOT!
