Finally, after months of careful planning we had our community picnic this past Saturday. All my goals* were met and the only thing I didn't like about it was the weather was bad and a lot of the people who said they were coming didn't show up. So we had a lot of food left over. But I'd rather have extra than not enough.
I can't get the photos to load tonight, so maybe tomorrow I'll add them.
* Introducing people to their neighbors and inspiring local residents to volunteer to help with putting on the picnic.
