Paul Newman and Cuteness

The other day I saw that old movie "What a Way to Go" starring a lovely, young Shirley McClain as a often-widowed woman who longed for the simple life, but every time she married some slacker, he became successful, died, and left her some more millions of dollars.

A very hunky Paul Newman played one of the husbands.

Of course, I remembered he had blue eyes, but had forgotten just how blue, and was reminded of why he was such a heart-throb back in the day.

This next picture comes from my cousin's wife in South Dakota. She is the one who makes extra money by helping farmers during lambing season, sometimes working around the clock. She brought these two home for some extra care.

What happens to the lambs or don't I want to know?
And WOW I had no idea Paul Newman was such a hottie!

You definitely do not want to know what happens to those lambs. I had forgotten what a hottie Paul Newman was, didn't realize he was in that movie, so it was a pleasant surprise.

I agree with Marta-Sting and Butch Cassidy. What to take home-lambs or Paul Newman? Tough decision.

Paul Newman stayed cuter longer, lambs grow up into sheep.

Cute little lambs!
I've seen a couple Paul Newman films because my Mom's a huge fan of his, but personally I really only liked him in Cool Hand Luke. I think its pretty awesome that he used to race cars.

He had a lot of interests outside of movies, which was refreshing. I'll never forget him eating all those eggs in Cool Hand Luke.

That's a movie I have to see. Great ludicrous plot and all. And -- I want a lamb!!

You know how those movies with all-star casts can be kind of wearing, but this one was well-done. Of course at the time, some of those stars weren't so big yet, like maybe Paul Newman. Lambs are really cute, gamboling around. So are small calves - their faces are so clean and white, their fur so silky.

He was such a good actor and an admirable man. When he and Robert Redford
costarred it was debatable which one you wanted to take home with you.

I admire Robert Redford for not getting plastic surgery, but oh my, he looks so wrinkly these days. Maybe he smokes cigarettes.

The weather right now is windy and cold.We are supposed to get something on the weekend.
More snow I hear and not good. The groundhog should be fired.

That year I lived in Vermont, it seemed like winter would never end. That was 1975, and we had some really big storms. Fortunately, I was dating a guy who had a snow blade on his truck.

Those old movies are so much fun to watch. Let us know how your weather is some time.

Got a close-up of those blue eyes in New York in the 60s. He was shopping at a 24-hour produce market in the Village on 6th Ave. and 8th St. It was called Balducci's (it got big and moved uptown to rival Zabar's). Our eyes met. He looked "caught". Soon he was mobbed. Then he loaded his veggies and left on his motorcycle. I was really struck at the intense color in those eyes.

That's one brush with greatness I'd love to have had.

Newman was a class act--I waited on him and Joanne a couple of times at the Ham 'N Eggs at 52nd and Broadway

I've always admired her so much, and him for the fact that they stayed married and he didn't act like the usual Hollywood celebrity.

My favorite Paul Newman films I think are "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "The Sting." Makes me want to look through Netflix online to see if I've forgotten some. He gets a high five from me just for his charitable work. What a class act — with incredible blue eyes!

Wishing the little lambs well!

Wikipedia will list all his films. It's too bad more of the movie stars couldn't have been more like him. Those lambs are just the cutest, aren't they?
