The stores have already stocked up on candy for Halloween. I think a lot of people who are buying it now will have too much time to eat a lot of it, and end up buying more. Maybe they realize that, and are doing it on purpose.
We usually don't stay home for the trick or treaters. The big day falls on Sunday this year, but the Las Vegas casinos will celebrate it all weekend with costume contests. One year Mr. Troutbend donated blood on Halloween, and not only did he get a great ghoulish tee shirt about donating blood, but the blood drawing people wore clever costumes.
