Heat Wave Colorado

We are back in the 70s during the day and the overnight low is supposed to be in the 40s. Not a cloud in the sky and no precipitation in sight. If you look at the weather map, the whole country is clear of clouds, although there is a front across the midwest, due north to south.

This is our version of fall color. 99% of it is this bright gold, nothing like the colors back east. It's like discovering treasure to come around a curve and there is our gold.

This is the view from the plains. My house is near the big mountain on the right, Long's Peak. The other one is Mount Meeker, but it gets no respect because whenever anyone refers to this view, they call it 'the view of Long's Peak.'
