Fake Starbucks Recipe

When I worked the company provided a lot of free beverage choices including cocoa mix and cocoa mix with marshmallows. I'll never forget the time one of my co-workers showed me how she made a cold coffee drink that she thought was as good as what Starbucks had on offer at that time.

Take a tall glass.
Put half a packet of cocoa mix with marshmallows in it and add some powdered coffee creamer.
Stir in some hot water to dissolve the dry mix.
Put in some ice.
Stir in some hot coffee.
Add more ice.
Add the rest of the cocoa mix and stir.
Add more ice if needed.

It looked pretty awful with those marshmallow chunks floating around in that cloudy stuff between the ice cubes. They wouldn't get soft or dissolve because they needed hotter water to do it in. I was never tempted to try it myself, but several people thought it was the best thing they'd ever had; at least that's what they claimed.

On the other hand, here is my concoction for winter:
Crystal Light lemonade mix
Orange-spice herbal tea (Celestial Seasonings preferred)

Brew the tea and add some of the lemonade mix. Drink hot.

For summer:
Mint flavored herbal tea or regular Lipton's tea
Crystal light lemonade mix

Make iced tea from the tea. Stir in some lemonade mix.

As you can see I was less imaginative.

On the other hand, there's always Pinot Grigio.

I have a recipe for a knockoff of Starbucks Frappucino and it was good. It calls for espresso, cream and ice cubes. There may be more ingrediants but I can't remember right now and I'm too lazy to get up and walk 2 feet to get my recipe box. I'll find it and post it.

Stash makes a good orange spice black tea that'd be good cold, tho' I drink it hot.

My version is similar and great for winter. Put in a whole packet of hot choclate mix, fill with hot coffee and add a dollop of whipped cream or Cool Whip. Of course whipping cream is better.

We love iced tea mixed with lemonade. I don't know where that came from, but it's not summer without that drink.
